Jen Golding is a Printmaker and Painter who lives and works in Suffolk. Her work is figurative, often with a narrative content. She produces Etchings, Woodcuts and Monoprints, incorporating her love of colour and pattern. She hand produces all her prints and works mainly in small limited editions.
Monoprinting is an opportunity to push the boundaries of her printmaking and experiment with layers of colour and shape in a more abstract manner. Her Paintings are from observation and are largely domestic settings and still life work. She loves colour and is fascinated by the constant dialogue between tone and colour and by the impact that one colour has on another. She works from her studio at home and at Sudbourne Park Printmakers, near Orford where she teaches relief printmaking on their two day printmaking courses.
Her first Degree was in Photography and Jen consequently worked as a Photographer for over 15 years. Since then she has taken a Diploma in Fine Art Portrait Painting at Heatherleys School of Art, London, followed by Fine Art Printmaking at both Heatherleys and Curwen School of Print. During her time at Heatherleys she won The John Dalton Three Figure Portrait Award
She is now a member of Sudbourne Printmakers and regularly exhibits with them. Jennifer was awarded The Print Prize at The Chelsea Art Society Exhibition 2015. Her work has also been purchased by Ipswich and Colchester Museums
